covering the classics
Shayna recently introduced me to Creative Action Network, "a marketplace for original, visual, meaningful work, crowdsourced from a
passionate community of artists & designers around the world." She just finished a Muir Woods poster for their See America campaign.
They also have a Covering the Classics campaign, wherein designers can submit their cover interpretations of classic books; you can buy the book (printed by Harvard Bookstore) in paperback with the design you like, or buy it as a poster. Here are some standout choices:

keep calm and, you know, carry on
I've never been a big fan of those Keep Calm and Carry On posters. I'm even less a fan of the various iterations (Keep Calm and Buy Shoes? Keep Calm and Eat a Cupcake?). However, I gained a new appreciation for the original World War II-era poster after watching this video. Did you know that the poster was discovered in 2000 by the owner of Barter Books? Which, by the way, is one on the list of the 20 most beautiful bookstores in the world...
Enjoy!

lost type co-op
When looking to freshen up the old blog I happened upon Lost Type Co-op, a "pay-what-you-want" type foundry. Take a look at some of the gorgeous type faces they have available for use:

for ever.
I don't have any tattoos. It's really an issue with commitment. Don't get me wrong, some tattoos I like on some people. But I just don't know if I could ever commit to getting something inked on my body. For Ever.
I
get that people look at their tattoos and think back to who they were
at that pivotal time. Why they chose that thing or word or symbol or
whatever they chose. But I look back at pictures of myself from 15 years
ago and think what was I thinking about my outfits and my hair. Thankfully
outfit choices from the late 90's don't last forever and hair grows out.
