in memory
I don't often share sad news on this blog. But every once in awhile life overwhelms us and is exposed to be what it really is, a fragile, delicate, often cruel, but infinitely beautiful place.
It's hard to maintain this online space and ignore the reality happening behind it all. At the end of last week our dear friend Katie died. She drowned unexpectedly. Her death leaves a gaping hole in our lives and the lives her family and her friends.
This is not meant to be a eulogy to her gorgeous pearly smile or her mad skills as a mom to 3-year-old Milo. I simply couldn't write enough to encompass all that was Katie.
Instead, read this as a pause. A long sigh. A reminder to hold those you love close, and to tell them often that they are loved.
