I love that the MoMa is streaming Marina Abramović's "The Artist is Present" performance live during museum hours, giving audiences around the world a chance to "participate" in the performance, albeit online.

From the MoMA website:

In an endeavor to transmit the presence of the artist and make her historical performances accessible to a larger audience, the exhibition includes the first live re-performances of Abramović’s works by other people ever to be undertaken in a museum setting. In addition, a new, original work performed by Abramović will mark the longest duration of time that she has performed a single solo piece.

santa fe

I spent the weekend in Santa Fe with my friend Anna and her husband Forest. Anna and I have known each other since middle school. Which means that we've known each other for more years than not. A trip to Santa Fe to visit them was long overdue. We spent Saturday morning soaking in an outdoor tub at Ten Thousand Waves; we spent Saturday night dancing to brilliant karaoke at Tiny's; and we spent lots of time in their kitchen. What a lovely weekend.

And dinner: Kung Fu Girl Riesling + Forest's incredible smoked duck + Momfuku steamed buns + Forest's homemade pickled radishes, cucumbers, sunchokes, and kimchi.

photographing mexico city

We had such a wonderful time in Mexico City last weekend visiting friends, eating tacos, sipping mezcal, playing dominoes and basta, wandering around Condesa, ducking into bookstores, eating more tacos, and photographing everything. In February I posted some of the photos I took in Mexico City last year. Yellow was the theme. I saw so much yellow this trip too.

monocle: travel mapping
